If I Were Blind

If I were blind, I wouldn’t see the bodies of dead school children and teachers,

I would not believe every word sprouted by preachers.

If I were blind, I would not fear guns,

or worry of wars where I might lose my sons.

If I were blind, I would not see the unyielding hate,

nor the precipice of a frightening fate.

Because, if I were blind, I would see none of this at all.

Wake up America.

Before we fall.
